With the recognition of the Ministry of Culture as a Centre of Significant Interest for Dance, the Egri Foundation consolidates in Verbania and Il Maggiore the beating heart of its widespread network project IPUNTIDANZA, which for over twenty years has promoted contemporary dance in Piedmont through production, programming, production and training.

Thanks to MAGGIORE_DANZA, Verbania has established itself as a crossroads of national and international artistic experiences, hosting the EgriBiancoDanza Company and prestigious choreographic institutions such as the Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts (India), Hung Dance (Taiwan), and the Jo Strømgren Company (Norway). The city, the Company's main production hub, has thus become a hub for dance on the Lake Maggiore-Piedmont axis, strengthening its international vocation.

The 2025/2026 season is characterized by the richness and variety of choreographic languages, combining high-quality performances with educational and audience participation opportunities. In addition to theater evenings, the Le Isole del Gesto format offers in-depth meetings, critical insights, workshops, and activities for all ages, in collaboration with local cultural institutions such as the Fondazione Museo del Paesaggio, Teatro Sant'Anna, Libraries VCO, Associazione Casa della Resistenza, Auser Insieme Verbania, and many others.

Special attention is paid to young people and families, with dedicated programs at the Spazio Sant'Anna and new matinees at the Maggiore, open not only to schools but also to the public.

The project extends beyond the theater season, intertwining with spring and summer initiatives: from July's Dance Week—eight days of intensive training and programming—to the prestigious CROSS Project, a multidisciplinary festival that brings international performing arts to Verbania and is fully integrated into the CRID's vision.

Thanks to the synergy between the Egri Foundation, Il Maggiore, and local cultural and educational institutions, MAGGIORE_DANZA is a unique dance hub of significant interest in Northern Italy, capable of enhancing the cultural and landscape heritage of Lake Maggiore and projecting itself into a national and international network of excellence.
