A bit of history
The Company EgriBiancoDanza enjoys the heritage of more than thirty years of experience from the previous company directed by Susanna Egri “Balletti di Susanna Egri“, the only one appointed to the celebrations of the centenary of the unification of Italy in 1961 and since then regularly Supported by grants, official owing to its intense activity in television and stage performances, as well as for the significant collaborations with composers and artists such as Goffredo Petrassi, Paul Arma, Giuseppe savagnone, Lele Luzzati, Micha Scandella, Uberto Bertacca, Jacques Dupont, Colette Marchand, Victor Ferrari, Jean Cébron, Luciana Savignano, Giancarlo Menotti, Amedeo Amodio, El Camborio, Viktor Rona.
The Ballets of Susanna Egri, during all its existence, stopped in 1992, carried out an intense and widespread activity on the national and international field, with tours in Germany, Denmark, France, Czechoslovakia, Portugal, as well as several Collaborations with Birgit Cullberg and her Company in Sweden.
In 1998, after six years of break, Susanna Egri recognized in her disciple Raphael Bianco, after years active as a dancer in several foreign companies (and graduated as a choreographer at the University of Dance), the ideal collaborator for the creation of a new Company.
“We are both persuaded of the necessity to create a different company, aiming to deepen through the dance a more intimate exploration of the human soul, as a bridge at the dawn of the third millennium, between the recent past and the near future. To this purpose, Raphael Bianco leaves the French National Company, which he was active during four years, to share with me the risk of this new adventure. ” (S.E.).
